Zwischen Sonys neuem LinkBuds Open und Fit gibt es einen grossen Unterschied. Der LinkBuds Open setzt auf eine offene Bauweise: Er hat ein Loch im H\u00f6rbereich und l\u00e4sst so alle Umgebungsger\u00e4usche durch. Der Vorteil: Beim Fahrradfahren oder Joggen im Strassenverkehr h\u00f6rt man seine Umgebung problemlos. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Der Fit verwendet hingegen die klassische Bauweise mit Silikonaufs\u00e4tzen, die den Geh\u00f6rgang abdichten. Dadurch kann man sich vollkommen der Musik hingeben. Die beiden Kopfh\u00f6rer kommen in einer sehr kompakten Verpackung. Mit dabei sind ein \u00e4usserst handliches Ladecase, eine Kurzanleitung und ein USB-C-Ladekabel. Zudem hat Sony beim Fit noch mehrere Silikonaufs\u00e4tze dazu gepackt. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Die Installation hat Sony ausgezeichnet gel\u00f6st: Bluetooth am Smartphone aktivieren, Kopfh\u00f6rer ins Ohr stecken, auf \u00abVerbinden\u00bb klicken. Mehr braucht es nicht. Zudem empfiehlt es sich, die \u00abSound Connect\u00bb-App herunterzuladen; sie erm\u00f6glicht zahlreiche Einstellungen und Anpassungen. Enthalten sind etwa ein Equalizer oder Funktionen zum Anpassen der Tippsteuerung. Schade: Die App wirkt etwas altbacken und \u00fcberladen. Hier k\u00f6nnte Sony das Design und die Men\u00fcf\u00fchrung gerne mal auffrischen. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Otherwise, the buds are pretty comfy for extended listening, which is key to their aim of all-day wearability. Also key is a boosted battery that nearly doubles the talk time from 2.5 hours to 4.5, and provides up to 8 hours of listening time compared to the previous pair\u2019s 5.5 hours. This addresses one of my biggest gripes about the O.G. Linkbuds and may partly account for the heftier weight. The slimmer charging case adds more time off the grid for 22 hours total, but as before, there\u2019s no Qi wireless charging. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In true Sony fashion, the Linkbuds Open offer plenty of other extras like multipoint connection to pair with two devices at once, auto-pause sensors, and a speak-to-chat option that pauses sound when you talk. As with the previous Linkbuds, there\u2019s also Adaptive Volume, which raises or lowers volume based on environmental sounds. I was hoping the V2 chip would make this more nuanced than before, but it\u2019s still too touchy, raising volume unevenly with noises like a light gust of wind. Still, it could come in handy, considering there\u2019s no form of noise-canceling (for obvious reasons). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

They don’t sound quite as good as the LinkBuds Fit, but they’re among the best-sounding open earbuds and do feature clear, nicely detailed sound. They don’t deliver as much bass as the LinkBuds Fit and other premium noise-isolating buds, but in quieter environments anyway, there’s a relatively small drop-off in sound quality from noise-isolating buds. Also, like other open buds, their sound does have an open, airy quality to it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

voice-calling performance was good and the buds have good battery life. They’re rated for up to 8 hours on a single charge, with the compact case providing an additional 14 hours. It’s worth noting the lightweight case, which features a trendy marble swirl on the glossy top portion, feels a tad flimsy, but hopefully it will hold up fine over time. Note that the case does not have wireless charging, which is a tad disappointing for a set of $200 earbuds. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
